The books used to highlight the character development and talking bubble books include Caldecott Honor Medal Books: Knuffle Bunny, The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! by Mo Willems.

Math:

  • We explored the use of symbols to compare quantities.
  • We discovered a different way to set up a number sentence.
  • We found patterns on number lines.
  • New math terms include: ‘minus’, ’plus’, ‘equals’.

Social Studies:

To prepare for Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday we discussed peace in action and using peaceful words. Our K-2 Prayer Service highlighted his commitment to Peace. We read “The Sneetches” by Dr Seuss and discussed fair and unfair rules and kind vs unkind words.
